This video will show you how to create a goal.
To create a goal , click on the “Plus” icon on the top right of the screen.
Give a title to your goal.
Describe what you want to achieve and how it will be measured.
Indicate the start and end date.
Enter one or multiple categories to classify your goal, any previously used will be suggested.
Delegate the goal to someone else responsible to deliver it, or keep it as your own.
Change a user who is responsible to report the progress.
Add additional viewers: your team members, your manager, someone else contributing to your objectives.
Choose either a metric based goal for graphing numbers over time, or an action based goal for progress towards completion of tasks. How these work will be further explained in the update a goal and create an action video respectively.
We will continue here with a metric based goal.
Then indicate the metric unit that will be used to measure the progress. It could be Unit, £’000 or hours for instance.
Choose the reporting frequency, for instance ‘Monthly’. The “None (One-off goal)” option is used when you do not need to monitor progress along multiple periods of time and you just need to update a progression percentage.
You can provide the source of the data, a report reference for instance.
With the switch, select how you will monitor your goal progress: For instance the higher the better for a sales target, or the lower the better for a number of injuries.
Before creating the goal, ensure that you have completed all the mandatory fields marked with a red asterisk.
Also make sure that you have chosen the right starting date and frequency as those fields cannot be modified once the goal is created.
When you are finished, click on the button “Create Goal”...
Using the pencil icon, you can go back and edit this information as long as you are the delegate of the goal.
Now that we have a basic goal we’ll find out how you can update a goal in the next video.
